Unnecessary verbal at post office

In Kintore post office this morning when a young lad comes in and asks for cigarettes.
Quite rightly, the counter staff member asks if he has ID. (To verify that he is the legal minimum age of 18 to be allowed to buy cigarettes.)
At this the young lad starts using the “f” word at the counter staff member and stomps out of the shop.
Now I think the lad was 18 or older. But from this totally unnecessary display of verbal abuse, he certainly did not have the maturity to match his years.
