Flood study event

Aberdeenshire Council is working with Dougall Baillie Associates and JBA Consulting to produce a detailed study to examine the flood risks around Inverurie and Port Elphinstone.
Anyone who experienced the flood that afflicted Kintore in January 2016, will be concerned to hear what progress has been made in understanding the issues on the Inverurie flood plain.
For Kintore the concerns are heightened by the possibility that the violet option for the A96 dualling would involve a huge viaduct being built on the River Don flood plain at Tavelty.
This event follows the initial public event held back in February. The format this time is a drop-in session based in Inverurie Town Hall on Tuesday, October 8 and you can drop in any time between 3pm and 7pm to see details of the study and speak to representatives from DBA/JBA Consulting and Aberdeenshire Council.
