STOP PRESS: In an echo of the confusion over the closure of the level crossing in 2017, we have received an alteration to the timing of the closure of Kintore level crossing.
But, just a day after we posted the information from Aberdeenshire Council’s official notification (that the crossing would be closed for seven weeks from April 27) we now learn that the closure will, in fact be from June 1, for THIRTEEN weeks.
The closure is part of the programme to re-establish a dual track rail line, the level crossing at Boat of Kintore, on the B977 Kintore to Hatton of Fintray Road will be closed.
The diversion will be by School Road to the Broomhill roundabout. Follow the A96 to the B973 at Blackburn. In the centre of Blackburn take Fintray Road B979 and follow that to Hatton of Fintray.
Aberdeenshire council say that access for emergency vehicles will be maintained at all times. Access for pedestrians will also be maintained along with vehicular access to affected properties, whenever possible.
Any queries about the closure should be made to Elizabeth Ross on 01467 535368.
