Winning Garden chosen by Jim McColl

This summer Jim McColl of BBC Scotland’s Beechgrove Garden donned his judging hat and headed down from Oldmeldrum to choose the best garden in Kintore.

Jim had no information about whose gardens he was seeing. But he found a winner.

At this week’s Kintore and District Community Council meeting the owner of the garden was revealed.

He is none other than Ainslie Reid, who organises the team of volunteers who plant and maintain Kintore’s colourful floral displays, but still manages to find time to create an award-winning garden.
