Proposed roundabout for Kemnay junction

A new roundabout is being proposed for the junction of the B987 (the road from the Broomhill Roundabout into Kintore) and the B994 to Kemnay.
The proposal is for a second roundabout, just north of the existing roundabout at Tumulus Way, serving Midmill business park. The proposed roundabout would be built largely in the field just to the north west of the existing T-junction. As such, it could be built without much traffic disruption.
Previously there was a proposal for a staggered traffic-light controlled junction to include Tumulus Way and the B994 to Kemnay.
At the Kintore and District Community Council meeting there was a cautious welcome for the roundabout proposal, but regret was expressed that the opportunity had been missed to realign the B944 with Tumulus Way to form a single roundabout for both junctions.
