Local resident Paul Davison has produced a paper entitled “Tuach Hill and the developers… public engagement?’.
In his paper Paul points out: “Tuach Hill has been a green space in the village for as long as most of us can remember, and a good place to walk. The land has been privately owned however, with Malcolm Allan buying most of it over a period of years.
“Some people in Kintore were concerned about rumours about plans to build on the hill, they formed the Kintore Open Space Initiative, a group with the aim of protecting Kintore’s premier open space for use by the community. The group raised awareness of the value of the hill to Kintore.
“Before 2006, Tuach Hill was designated a Site of Interest to Natural Science, an area identified by Aberdeenshire Council as being of local importance that should be protected from damaging development.”
