Aberdeenshire Council flood update

We have received the following update from Aberdeenshire Council:

There are no plans to issue any further Garioch Flood Bulletins but we will email information as it becomes available.

1. Scottish Flood Forum

Paul Hendy from Scottish Flood Forum will provide assistance for all Flooding and Insurance queries. This is an opportunity for residents from anywhere in Garioch who were affected by flooding to get expert advice and support regarding insurance claims, drying out properties, property repairs and any other questions related to flooding and its impacts. Paul can be contacted by phone 07747702299 (if he is unable to answer, send a text with your number and he will call you back) or email paul@scottishfloodforum.org

Due to low attendance, the drop in sessions in Kintore and Port Elphinstone have now ceased but residents from these communities are welcome to attend the continuing sessions in Kemnay as detailed below:

Wednesday 6th April – Kemnay Village Hall 4pm – 8pm
Wednesday 13th April – Kemnay Village Hall 4pm – 8pm
Wednesday 20th April – Kemnay Village Hall 4pm – 8pm
Wednesday 27th April – Kemnay Village Hall 4pm – 8pm

2. Inverurie and Garioch Flood Support Group

This group has no planned drop in sessions but if you need any advice please contact them directly by email - gariochflood2016@gmail.com or send a private message through the Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/Inveruriefloodsupport/

3. Garioch Flood Recovery Plan

Please find a link below to the Garioch Area Committee Agenda of 15th March 2016 (Flood Recovery Plan is item 16). The Garioch Area Committee approved the Flood Recovery Plan for inclusion in an Aberdeenshire wide plan to be considered by Infrastructure Services Committee. All identified Aberdeenshire projects will be prioritised and an action plan drawn up in due course.

4. Garioch Flood Recovery Group

The Garioch Flood Recovery Group has now been established and will hold its first meeting in April.
