Electricity grid line routing consultation

Scottish Hydro Electric Transmission plc are organising a public consultation meeting over the corridor for an upgrade to the electrical grid.
SHE Transmission are considering an extension to the initially proposed route corridor, which was introduced at public consultation events held in October and November 2015. The additional area being investigated extends the northern boundary of the originally proposed route corridor, including the area between Tillyfourie, Cluny, Craigearn and Kintore Substation.
This is part of the Beauly – Blackhillock and Blackhillock – Kintore Reinforcement Projects. The growth in energy generation in the north of Scotland, including from renewable energy sources, like the Caithness wind farm pictured. This has resulted in the need to reinforce the existing SHE Transmission grid system network.
