Flood victims urged to collect donations

There is an urgent need for flood victims to collect equipment that was donated for their use. This is because the 'flood response' centre is likely to be moving soon.

“I was at a meeting this afternoon and one of the matters discussed is the urgent need for flood victims to call at the British Legion and collect equipment which was donated for their use,” explains Kenny Thomson of Kintore and District Community Council.

“The ‘flood response’ centre and its staff is likely to be moving to the Community Centre soon and it would be better if a lot of equipment didn’t have to go with them.

“The items include towels, refuse bags, rubber gloves, duct tape, bleach and other cleaning fluids, kitchen towels, folding crates and cardboard and plastic boxes with lids.

“These items were kindly donated for the use by flood victims and that is who should get them, so don’t be embarrassed folks, please go along to the British Legion, Inverurie to collect them.”

The ideal time to collect items is this weekend and between the hours of 11am and 5pm on Saturday and 12 noon to 4pm on Sunday.

Can you please pass on the message to flood victims who may not have regular access to the internet?
