News | Community councilIn the spring there were a series of public consultations aimed at producing a Community Action Plan for Kintore.
The Kintore Community Action Plan has now been published and you can download a copy (PDF) or pick up a print copy from:
- Kintore Library
- Kintore Kirk
- Kintore Post Office
- Donside Vet Practice in Kintore
- J&G Dossett

Reading the report, it is clear that most residents find Kintore to have a good community spirit with a friendly atmosphere. But, common desires were more and better leisure facilities, improved transport links, more shops and a full-size supermarket, a filling station and the urgent need for the second school.
The action pages of the plan highlight the need for:
- community and sports centre
- sustainable future for the Town House
- skate park
- improved school and community facilities
- further development of The Bothie
- re-opening railway station at earlier opportunity
- improvement of bus services and routes
- development of a network of paths
- creation of a nature reserve
- establishment of a community garden
- reduction of litter and dog mess
- better access to GP and other health services
- local blood donor sessions
- maintain safety in the community
- develop appropriate affordable housing
- a local family friendly pub, hotel, or restaurant
- more shops
- improve broadband speed and connectivity
- improve communication.
