Living in Kintore we don’t need reminding that we are are only about six miles from the world’s busiest commercial heliport at Aberdeen International Airport.
Helicopters are a key link for the offshore oil and gas industry transporting people and supplies to and from offshore installations. The job they do is vital, but they can be noisy.
If you find a situation where you feel the noise from helicopters is excessive, or causing a nuisance, what can you do about it?
Aberdeen International Airport has a dedicated phone line for noise complaints and it is the number to use for both helicopter and ‘fixed-wing’ aircraft noise. The team answering the call will take the details of the caller and the issue that the call relates to, this in turn gets passed to the team that responds directly to the complainant. This team will then talk to NATS who will provide the details of the helicopter operation in question.
The number to call is 01224 348420.
