The Local Hub cafe opening

The Local Hub Community Cafe in The Square, Kintore is to open on Saturday, June 13 during the Kintore Summer Festival.

The community coffee shop will offer a wide range of products that include Seattle’s Best® coffee and Tazo® tea brands supplied by Starbucks.

The Local Hub

Because the shop is a community enterprise and run ‘not for profit’, over 65% of any profit made from beverages and snacks is invested into a community fund that can then be used in ways that benefit the local community as a whole.

How and where the fund is used will be mainly influenced by the members of The Local Hub’s community membership scheme.

For an annual fee of £10 per annum, members of the scheme receive a membership card that also entitles them to a range of promotions and discounts on products throughout the year.

Membership can be obtained either instore, online or an application form posted upon request.

To maximise the amount of funds that can be invested into the community, The Local Hub requires a number of volunteers who are able to offer some of their time in a social manner, either within the coffee shop or in its management.

Previous experience is not required and we only ask that volunteers have a friendly personality and a strong desire to improve the community.

Any training will be provided and we will do our best to make the volunteering experience enjoyable and rewarding.

Barista training by Starbucks for volunteers is to be held on Monday, 8th Jue; with several sessions being run throughout the day.

Anyone who wishes to register as a volunteer should contact us for an application form and arrange a time to attend a training session.
