Seize the opportunity to push supermarket

Aberdeenshire Council are inviting responses to the Main Issues Report produced for the Aberdeenshire Local Development Plan 2016. The deadline for responses is February 1.

One of the hottest issues in Kintore at the moment is the frustration that the town has doubled in size in recent years, with some 1,000 further homes proposed, yet we have no supermarket, filling station, or many of the facilities other towns of a similar size take for granted.

Gateway Kintore supermarket proposal

Despite submitting a draft master plan for the Gateway Kintore development, supported by a 1,000-name petition, Aberdeenshire Council continues to block the proposal, arguing that the site is too far from the town centre.

Aberdeenshire Council’s planners have also said that the 1,000-name petition in support of the Gateway Kintore Development will not be considered in their current consultation.

Frustratingly, this means we are required to respond to the council all over again.

From where we stand, it looks like a snub for Kintore and the other communities in the area who support the Gateway Kintore plan.

If you want to see Gateway Kintore become a reality and you want to make your voice count, you need to respond to the current consultation by Saturday, February 1, 2014.

Fortunately we have made this as easy as possible. You can send your response in a matter of seconds.
