What progress on Gateway Kintore?

You will probably recall that, back in February, a petition with more than 1,000 signatures was handed over to our Kintore councillors – Nan Cullinane, Martin Ford and Fergus Hood. The petition called on Aberdeenshire Council to bring forward the Gateway Kintore development for consideration by councillors.

Five months on, have you noticed how things have gone awfully quiet?

Gateway Kintore Masterplan
Is the Gateway Kintore Masterplan gathering dust on some Aberdeenshire Council shelf?

Would you not think that the council and the councillors would realise this was a burning issue for Kintore – a town that has expanded beyond all recognition, but has been starved of the facilities that an expanding town needs? As a burning issue, would they not want to keep Kintore 4,000-plus residents reassured that their petition was not being ignored?

Well here is an open invitation from the Kintore website for Aberdeenshire Council and our councillors give us that update.

  • Where are we with the Gateway Kintore development?
  • What is the timescale for it to go before councillors?
  • When can we expect a supermarket to open in Kintore?
  • When are we going to get a filling station?
  • When and how will we get an upgraded Broomhill roundabout that retains direct access to the town from the northbound A96?
