The Local Development Plan will replace the existing Aberdeenshire Local Plan and is intended to be the basis for decisions on Planning Applications in the period 2011 to 2023.

A Main Issues Report document has been compiled by the Council Planners and it sets out options, including a preferred option and alternatives for land development in communities across Aberdeenshire.

A series of Public Workshops have been arranged by the Council and are intended to give the Planners the opportunity to explain the reasoning behind the document, which can be viewed on the website www.aberdeenshire.gov.uk/ldp. It is a hefty document, but only part of it relates to Kintore, although it is important to be aware of the early content of the document which covers the objectives, settlement strategy and the main policies issues.

The Public Workshop for the Kintore area will take place in Kintore Primary School on Thursday 4 June, starting at 7pm and it is vital that members of the community attend, become familiar with what is planned for the future of Kintore and get involved in the debate.
